26 June 2025 - Baroness urges government to make the FSA’s new allergen guidance mandatory.

📢 Last Thursday 26 June, our Parliamentary Ambassador, Baroness Jane Ramsey of Wall Heath, stood up for millions of people living with food allergies. She urged the government to make the FSA’s new allergen guidance for restaurants and online food platforms mandatory.

New research conducted by The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation shows that 1 in 4 young adults (26%) have either experienced or know someone who has had an allergic reaction to takeaway food. Whether ordering by phone, online, or in person, the risks are real, and too often overlooked. Transparency of ingredients information is for many people living with food allergies an absolute lifeline to staying safe.

Baroness Anna Healy of Primrose Hill also pressed the Government on its urgent appointment of an Allergy Tsar and we have been told that a response to our campaign is coming soon. It cannot come soon enough.

👏 We’re incredibly grateful to both Baronesses for using their voices to push for real change for people living with food allergies.

👏We're incredibly grateful to everyone in the allergy community for your steadfast and continuous support - we will get there!
