Proud to support the UK’s first National Allergy Strategy

Working together to improve allergy care across the UK

In April 2026, the UK’s first National Allergy Strategy was launched in Westminster, marking an important milestone for millions of people living with food allergies and other allergic diseases across the UK.

Natasha’s Foundation is proud to be a member of the National Allergy Strategy Group (NASG), working alongside leading allergy charities, clinicians, professional organisations and people with lived experience to help drive lasting improvements in allergy prevention, diagnosis, treatment, care and support.

We are united by a shared ambition: to create a more coordinated approach to allergic disease across the UK and ensure people living with allergies are safer, better supported and able to access the high-quality care they need.

What is the National Allergy Strategy?

The National Allergy Strategy sets out a coordinated, UK-wide vision for improving the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of allergic disease.

Developed by the National Allergy Strategy Group with input from experts, organisations and people affected by allergies, it brings together priorities for improving allergy care and addressing inequalities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Strategy calls for action to:

  • Reduce preventable harm from allergic disease and severe allergic reactions

  • Improve access to high-quality allergy care and specialist services

  • Improve allergy prevention, diagnosis, treatment and long-term management

  • Increase education and awareness of allergic disease

  • Create safer and more inclusive environments for people living with allergies

  • Address inequalities in allergy care and support

  • Build a more consistent and coordinated approach to allergy services across the UK

Together, these priorities provide a roadmap for improving the lives of people living with allergic disease and creating lasting change in the way allergies are understood, prevented and managed.

Natasha’s Foundation and the National Allergy Strategy Group

Natasha’s Foundation is proud to be part of the National Allergy Strategy Group, a coalition bringing together allergy charities, professional organisations, clinicians and patient voices from across the UK.

As a Foundation, our work is focused on our vision of a future without food allergy. Our membership of the National Allergy Strategy Group reflects our commitment to working collaboratively across the allergy community and supporting a coordinated, evidence-based approach to improving the prevention and management of food allergy.

We are aligned with the Strategy’s ambition to reduce preventable harm, improve health outcomes, tackle inequalities and ensure people living with allergic disease have equitable access to high-quality care and support.

The National Allergy Strategy also complements our wider work across food allergy research, education, policy and public awareness, as we work to make life safer for people living with food allergies today while investing in research that could transform the future.

The launch of the National Allergy Strategy

The National Allergy Strategy was officially launched at a parliamentary reception in Westminster on 20 April 2026, at the beginning of Allergy Awareness Week.

The event brought together charities, clinicians, healthcare professionals, parliamentarians and people with lived experience of allergic disease. Professor Adam Fox OBE, Chair of the National Allergy Strategy Group, presented the Strategy and its ambitions for improving allergy care across the UK. The launch represented the culmination of years of collaboration across the allergy community and created a shared framework through which organisations could work together to push for meaningful and measurable improvements.

Professor Dr Adam Fox OBE, Chair of NASG

Allergic disease affects millions of people across the UK and can have a significant impact on health, wellbeing and everyday life

For people living with food allergies, access to appropriate healthcare, education and support can be vital, while effective allergy prevention and research have the potential to transform outcomes for future generations.

The publication of the National Allergy Strategy was therefore an important step, but the launch was only the beginning. The focus must continue to be on turning its recommendations into meaningful action.

That means continuing to work towards better allergy services, greater awareness, improved prevention and treatment, safer environments and more consistent support for people living with allergic disease wherever they live in the UK.

Working together for lasting change

No single charity, healthcare organisation, researcher or government department can address the challenges of allergic disease alone.

The National Allergy Strategy brought the allergy community together around a shared vision for change. As a member of the National Allergy Strategy Group, Natasha’s Foundation is proud to be part of that collective effort.

We will continue to work with organisations and experts across the allergy community to advocate for progress, support evidence-based change and help ensure food allergy receives the attention, research and action it deserves.

Together, we want to create a future in which people living with food allergies are safer and better supported, while continuing our work towards our mission: a future without food allergy.
