31 July 2025 - A Major Step Forward for Food Allergy Safety in Jersey

The Jersey Government has launched a 10-week public consultation on new legislation to ensure that food sold, prepared and packaged in Jersey is in line with standards already in place in the UK and EU. This includes Natasha’s Law.

We are so pleased to see this important progress. Last year, we were proud to attend the first ever Jersey Food Allergy Group conference and support Dominic Jones, who has campaigned tirelessly for better protection for people with food allergies.

Tanya Ednan-Laperouse OBE and Nadim Ednan-Laperouse OBE, founders of Natasha’s Foundation, said:

“We are delighted that Jersey is moving forward with plans to adopt Natasha’s Law. This consultation is a major step forward for people living with food allergies on the island.

“Natasha’s Law, introduced in 2021, requires full ingredient and allergen labelling on all food pre-packed for direct sale. It was brought in following the death of our daughter, Natasha, aged just 15.

“We hope other Channel Islands will follow Jersey’s lead so that all islanders can enjoy greater transparency and safety in the food they buy and eat.”

Jersey wants to hear your views on new plans for food labelling, including adopting Natasha’s Law. This is part of a public consultation, which means you can share your thoughts before any decisions are made.
